WHAT TO GET
Breads, croissants, macarons, and cookies
INTERVIEW: Chris Holland, owner
Why did you start your business? "It started with a conversation with Indie Coffee Roasters about making pastries for their location in Carmel. A lot of things had to happen quickly, but from that initial conversation the bakery began, and we still have an amazing partnership."
What products do you sell and what is your most popular product? "We are a full-service bakery providing breads, croissants, cookies, muffins, scones, and macarons. With a pre-order, we sell our custom cakes as well. Our San Francisco-style sourdough bread and chocolate croissants are the most popular items. But pre-order or arrive early for the buttermilk English muffins because they sell out quickly."
What is an interesting fact about your business? "The business name, 'Le Petit Gateau,' is French for 'the small cake.'"
What is your favorite part of the farmers market? "The friendly atmosphere and getting to know our customers."
What else do you want customers to know about your business? "I create custom wedding and special occasion cakes. I’m a trained artist and love to combine my artistic talents with my passion for baking."
